Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care to postoperative patients, primarily on MedSurg units focusing on orthopedics, general surgery, and neuro populations
- Administer medications and treatments following approved protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
- Assess patient condition, document history, symptoms, and care provided in electronic health records
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Demonstrate independent clinical judgment while adhering to established standards of nursing practice
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the state of employment or a compact licensure
- BLS certification from AHA
- At least 1 year of nursing experience in a relevant specialty
- EPIC EMR system experience is a strong bonus
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working with postoperative, neuro, or surgical patients
- Strong assessment and patient education skills
