- Full-time, Days, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dialysis treatments, including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and apheresis, to acutely ill patients with complex medical conditions.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and cardiac activity during treatments utilizing telemetry and central monitoring systems.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care in a fast-paced environment.
- Adhere to strict protocols for compliance, including mandatory pass/fail EKG testing and documented education verification prior to start.
- Support float staffing across multiple campus locations as needed, maintaining flexibility in assignments.
- Assist with patient assessments and manage medical-surgical or critical care diagnoses related to renal and hematologic conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Active nursing license in the state of North Carolina.
- Prior experience with EPIC electronic medical records system.
- Knowledge of dialysis treatments and equipment such as Baxter Amia PD and Spectra Optia apheresis devices.
- Ability to complete required modules during orientation, including understanding of compliance and safety procedures.
- Ability to pass mandatory EKG exam (two attempts allowed), with preparation.
- Must have a clean background check with no open cases.
- Current driver’s license for verification of residency within 50 miles (local candidates not accepted).
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a hospital setting with critical care or medical-surgical patients.
- Familiarity with operation and troubleshooting of dialysis and apheresis devices.
- Prior work in a multi-campus or float nurse role.
