Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to neonatal patients in the NICU setting.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and document clinical assessments using Epic electronic charting.
• Float within scope of practice to different units as needed.
• Maintain compliance with all hospital policies and procedures, including travel and background screening requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years pediatric or NICU RN experience (Epic charting experience required).
• Valid VA or compact state RN license at the time of submission.
• BLS and NRP certifications current.
• Minimum one year of recent NICU experience.
• Must have an active social security number, DOB, and be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Candidates must be local or willing to travel; locals are accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN degree preferred.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record systems.
• Ability to adapt quickly to float within units as needed.

Additional Details

• Candidates are required to submit to fingerprinting as per Virginia state regulations, with results expected within 15-20 business days. Start dates should be planned accordingly, as candidates cannot begin with pending results.
• All candidates will participate in orientation modules on the VCU Learning Exchange, completed during the first week of assignment.
• No time off will be guaranteed during the first week of the assignment; schedule availability should be addressed upfront.
• Both travelers and permanent staff must be away for one year before returning as travelers.
• This position includes night shifts on a rotating schedule with three shifts per week.
