Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to neonatal patients in the NICU setting.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and document clinical assessments using Epic electronic charting.
- Float within scope of practice to different units as needed.
- Maintain compliance with all hospital policies and procedures, including travel and background screening requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years pediatric or NICU RN experience (Epic charting experience required).
- Valid VA or compact state RN license at the time of submission.
- BLS and NRP certifications current.
- Minimum one year of recent NICU experience.
- Must have an active social security number, DOB, and be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Candidates must be local or willing to travel; locals are accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN degree preferred.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record systems.
- Ability to adapt quickly to float within units as needed.

Additional Details
- Candidates are required to submit to fingerprinting as per Virginia state regulations, with results expected within 15-20 business days. Start dates should be planned accordingly, as candidates cannot begin with pending results.
- All candidates will participate in orientation modules on the VCU Learning Exchange, completed during the first week of assignment.
- No time off will be guaranteed during the first week of the assignment; schedule availability should be addressed upfront.
- Both travelers and permanent staff must be away for one year before returning as travelers.
- This position includes night shifts on a rotating schedule with three shifts per week.
