Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Alamogordo, NM

Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, 13-week travel assignment; multiple shifts available (in-time varies from 3 PM to 7 PM; shifts typically 12 hours, night shift).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide independent, routine, and complex nursing care in an Emergency Department setting.
• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately.
• Educate patients and families regarding their conditions and post-care instructions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to manage a diverse range of emergency cases, including trauma, strokes, pregnant patients, pediatrics, and behavioral health.

Required Qualifications:

• Current RN license in New Mexico or a compact state.
• At least 2 years of recent ED experience, preferably in Level I, II, or III trauma settings.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications through AHA.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including nights.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience with a wide range of emergency cases from minor clinic-type patients to complex trauma.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
