Key Responsibilities

• Provide acute care nursing in a medical-surgical and telehealth setting for adult patients with various medical conditions.
• Conduct patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and interpret laboratory results.
• Perform dressing changes and set up aseptic/sterile procedures.
• Manage medication reconciliation and patient history documentation.
• Assist with phlebotomy, specimen labeling, and specimen collection (throat swabs, urine samples).
• Participate in telephone triage and handle pharmacy calls/patient refill requests.
• Support patients with neurological diagnoses such as stroke, TBI, spinal cord injury, and neurological debility in an inpatient rehab setting.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in the state of North Carolina.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant acute care experience in a hospital or rehab setting.
• BLS certification.
• EPIC electronic health record experience.
• Ability to interpret laboratory results, perform dressing changes, and manage patient data.
• Experience with medication reconciliation, vital signs, and specimen collection.
• Must be willing to float between all Cone Health campuses as needed.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Acute care rehab experience preferred.
• Prior experience with neurological patients or in inpatient rehab units.

• This position is for travelers only; local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible.
• All candidates must submit current driver’s license, education verification, and complete full compliance documentation by the deadline.
• All travelers are subject to float requirements across Cone Health campuses.

Additional Notes

• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM.
• Every third weekend and holidays as needed.
• Mandatory EKG pass/fail exam with two attempts allowed.
• Full compliance file due by 12 noon EST, Wednesday before start date.
