Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for patients in a medical oncology progressive care unit with pediatric patients, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Monitor patient vital signs and responses, utilizing telemetry and other equipment such as B450 monitors, GE telemetry systems, and various infusion pumps.
• Administer medications, including chemotherapy, blood products, and IV therapies, following protocols and maintaining infection prevention standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate care, respond to rapid response events, and manage complex patient needs.
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records and ensure compliance with all clinical protocols.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to stay current with unit procedures and specialty skills.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an oncology or high-acuity PCU setting preferred.
• Valid state or compact nursing license in Ohio at the time of submission.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), ACLS, and NIH certifications.
• Proficiency in interpreting dysrhythmias, managing central and peripheral lines, and using telemetry equipment.
• Ability to float within units of similar or lower acuity as needed.
• Strong focus on infection control and patient safety practices.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with chemotherapy administration and monitoring.
• Skills in managing complex IV medications, diabetic protocols, and non-invasive airway management.
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of advanced cardiac and respiratory care, including ECMO, chest tubes, and ventilator management.
