Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in an observation unit within a short-term acute care environment.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, respond to changes, and document findings accurately in the electronic health record system.
• Administer medications, including vasoactive drips, and manage acute patient needs according to physician orders.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes and safety.
• Float within scope across multiple hospital locations as needed, including Martin North, South, and Tradition within a 20-mile radius.
• Prioritize completing required time-sensitive modules prior to assignment start to ensure compliance.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 months of tele/acute care experience, with at least 2 years preferred.
• Proven experience in progressive care unit (PCU) settings and managing vasoactive drips.
• Valid and active nursing license for the state of Florida.
• Current BLS, ACLS certification (must be obtained at time of submission).
• NIHSS certification (must be obtained prior to start date).
• Ability to pass a negative 10-panel drug screen including nicotine (cotinine).
• Must be nicotine-free; no exceptions.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a teaching or magnet hospital facility.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with a focus on acute care.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different hospital policies and protocols.

• Orientation includes EKG and Pharm testing, with re-tests available if needed (no remediation offered).
• Modules must be completed pre-start and annually; timely completion is crucial.
• Travelers will be provided with necessary study materials and support to complete required modules efficiently.
