Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, nights, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients on a 12-hour night shift.
• Monitor and assess patients with various diagnoses such as respiratory illnesses, post-op surgeries, pain management, GI bleeding, CHF, diabetes, renal failure, and overdose cases.
• Administer IV medications, including Heparin and TNA drips, as needed.
• Conduct pass/fail EKG exams for compliance, with preparation required prior to submission.
• Adhere to compliance deadlines, including education verification and background checks.
• Float to various Cone Health facilities as needed, maintaining flexibility across campuses.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience.
• BLS certification mandatory; ACLS and NIH preferred.
• Experience with acute, chronic respiratory illnesses and orthopedic post-op care.
• Ability to pass required compliance testing, including EKG exam.
• EPIC electronic medical record experience.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with complex patient conditions such as arrhythmias, unstable COVID patients, and patients requiring IV therapy.
• Familiarity with patient diagnoses including GI bleeding, heart failure, and diabetes management.
• Prior travel nursing experience is welcome; first-time travelers accepted.
