Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care within the CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) in a Level 1 trauma hospital.
• Assist with cardiac surgeries including coronary artery bypass, valve replacements, and da Vinci-assisted thoracoscopy procedures.
• Ensure patient safety and maintain sterile environment throughout operative procedures.
• Collaborate with surgical teams and support staff to facilitate smooth surgical operations.
• Monitor patient condition pre-, intra-, and post-operatively, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and protocols.
• Participate in on-call shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a cardiac or CVOR setting.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Experience with cardiac surgeries such as coronary artery bypass, valve replacements, and thoracoscopy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, trauma hospital environment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Certification as a Certified Operating Room Technician (CORT) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Experience with advanced cardiovascular procedures and robotic surgeries.
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation systems.
• Ability to float to main OR if needed, with flexibility for varied surgical cases.
