Key Responsibilities
• Assist in operating room procedures across various surgical specialties, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
• Support surgical teams during a wide range of cases including general, ENT, endoscopic, gynecological, neurosurgery, oral, orthopedic, plastic, trauma, and urology procedures.
• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and supplies, and set up operating rooms for scheduled procedures.
• Float within scope of practice to meet departmental needs, including coverage in different OR units as required.
• Participate in emergency and trauma surgeries, managing equipment and assisting surgeons during complex procedures.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and credentialing requirements, including fingerprinting and licensure prerequisites.

Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Surgical Tech.
• Current Illinois Surgical Tech license or equivalent credential required upon submission.
• BLS certification required; CST preferred.
• Experience with a diverse range of surgical procedures, including trauma, neurosurgery, ENT, and gynecological cases.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends (once a month), and to participate in on-call rotations as needed.
• Must be able to meet compliance requirements including fingerprinting and work in IL.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience in a Level I trauma hospital setting.
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system.
• Previous travel or agency experience in a hospital environment.
• Excellent knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation.
