Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to labor and delivery patients in a high-volume maternity unit.
- Monitor fetal well-being and maternal health throughout labor and delivery processes.
- Assist with childbirth, including vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Utilize electronic fetal monitoring and other medical equipment per unit protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation within electronic medical records (Cerner).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery (L&D) nursing experience.
- Valid nursing license with State of North Carolina.
- BLS/ACLS certifications.
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification.
- Ability to float to related units as needed.
- High-risk obstetrics experience preferred.
- Comfortable working with complex obstetric cases and immediate newborn care.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Circulating experience in labor and delivery settings.
- Experience with high-acuity maternity patients and neonatal intensive care.
