Key Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and manage related body fluids and infusions following safety protocols
• Monitor and recognize abnormal lab values, communicate findings to the healthcare team
• Provide patient care for individuals with oncological conditions, including IV push, port access, and central line management
• Ensure proper disposal of cytotoxic spills and maintain infection control standards
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive oncology care
• Document patient care accurately in electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical nursing experience, preferably in oncology
• Active Illinois nursing license in hand or in application process
• Experience with chemotherapy administration and IV therapy, including port access and management
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week, with flexibility to work every other weekend
• Must have current AHA or Red Cross certifications; RQI cards not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Level I trauma or acute care hospital setting
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system
• Certifications specific to oncology nursing (e.g., Chemo cert preferred)
• Ability to float within scope to meet hospital needs, including affiliate facilities
