Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, Night shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the emergency room utilizing the nursing process during night shifts.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient needs, documenting actions taken and patient responses.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and according to protocols.
• Ensure compliance with care standards, protocols, and patient safety procedures.
• Supervise and support LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel, ensuring clinical competency and adherence to standards.
• Meet patient and family education and discharge planning needs throughout the episode of care.
• Complete required education and competency testing based on patient population and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Current nursing license in the State of New Mexico or a compact state.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a large emergency department.
• Valid BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety.
• Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment preferred.
• Ability to pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test onsite prior to starting.
• Ability to float between departments and within locations within 20 miles.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Epic electronic health record experience (training available onsite if needed).
• Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
