Key Responsibilities
- Provide care for cardiac patients including stable pre/post procedures such as pacemaker implants and cardiac catheterization.
- Monitor and titrate cardiac drips and manage patients with arrhythmias, CHF, unstable angina, and post-stroke care.
- Utilize telemetry and advanced respiratory equipment, including high flow oxygen and Bipap as appropriate.
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure efficient patient turnover and compliance with unit protocols.
- Respond to on-call and call-off situations with flexibility to float within the hospital as needed.
- Adhere to infection control standards and perform accurate documentation on EPIC and other systems.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant telemetry or cardiac stepdown experience.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina or valid Compact license.
- Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH.
- Experience with IV starts, telemetry, and post-procedure patient care.
- Ability to work a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with patient ratios up to 1:6.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior traveler experience or willingness to accept first-time traveler assignments.
- Experience with cardiac drips such as Amiodarone, Dopamine, and Cardizem.
- Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start.
- Comfortable with floating and covering multiple units as needed.

Additional Details
- Shifts: 12-hour nights, 6 patients per nurse, with surge capacity up to 13 patients.
- Weekend schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- Duration: 13-week assignments available.
- Must be available for hospital orientation during the first week.
- All candidates must meet travel compliance requirements within 48 hours of signing.
- Uniform: Navy blue or white scrubs, with matching jackets.
- Floating within hospital or nearby facilities is expected; candidates should be comfortable with flexibility.
- Covid-positive patients cared for with opti-flow and BIPAP; high acuity environment demanding quick turnover.
