Registered Nurse Emergency Room

Job Title

• Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Mids)

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, 12-hour shifts, mids

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to emergency department patients in a Level II Trauma Center
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and support staff to develop and implement patient care plans
• Monitor and interpret patient vital signs and medical equipment, including Phillips monitors and EKGs
• Assist in managing a diverse patient population across all ESI levels, averaging 58 patients daily
• Respond to codes, assist with rapid response teams, and support interdisciplinary team members during emergencies
• Adhere to hospital policies, including OSF call-off and orientation protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that application has been initiated
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records system
• Ability to work 12-hour mids shifts, including every other weekend and holiday

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous ER nursing experience, ideally in a Level II trauma setting
• Strong knowledge of emergency patient care, trauma protocols, and rapid response procedures
• Experience handling multiple patients and working in a fast-paced environment
