• Full-time, night shifts, 12-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide orthopedic patient care in a fast-paced med-surg unit with a focus on pain management.
• Monitor and manage patient conditions, including neuro spine and post-surgical patients.
• Administer medications, including IV starts, and track patient telemetry.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Adhere to unit protocols, including rapid response and emergency procedures.
• Maintain compliance with all safety and clinical standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent orthopedic nursing experience.
• Valid North Carolina (or Compact) RN license, or pending approval.
• BCLS certification required; NIHP preferred.
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification.
• Charge nurse or Level I trauma experience.
• Previous float/travel nursing experience within a hospital setting.

Additional Details

• Unit accepts first-time travelers with Epic experience.
• RTO requests up to 7 days can be auto-approved if not on major holidays.
• No RTO during the first week due to orientation.
• 13-week contract with options for 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Every other weekend required; weekend work may be made up if absent.
• Floating to other units within the hospital or nearby facilities based on census.
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
• Candidate must complete modules prior to start.
• Candidate references required at time of start; supervisor references preferred.
• Travel pairs permitted if on different units.
• Total shifts per week: 3.

All candidates must comply with travel and testing requirements within 48 hours of signing and have rehire approval if previously employed at certain health systems.
