Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for a diverse medical-surgical unit with a wide range of diagnoses, including sepsis, CHF, COVID-19, and post-procedure patients.
• Titrate patient drips, primarily Heparin, and monitor patients using telemetry equipment.
• Collaborate with a team of charge nurses, patient care techs, and support staff to deliver quality care.
• Document patient progress, discharge planning, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Adhere to unit policies and certifications, including BLS certification and IL RN licensure.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training specific to the department’s protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation of application initiation.
• BLS certification.
• Ability to titrate Heparin drips and read telemetry strips.
• Last four digits of SSN and middle initial for submission.
• Availability for 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and rotating holidays.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a medical-surgical or acute care setting.
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring systems, preferably Phillips.
• Ability to perform IV starts and blood draws.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
