Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a scrub tech working under the supervision of surgeons and R.N.s to ensure a safe operating environment.
• Prepare and coordinate surgical instruments and supplies according to preference cards and scheduled procedures.
• Communicate effectively with OR staff and sterile processing teams to facilitate smooth surgical operations.
• Review daily surgery schedules, identify potential delays, and coordinate with department staff to address scheduling needs.
• Manage core communication systems, including resource coordination, break scheduling, and supply procurement.
• Maintain a professional demeanor, exercising sound judgment, patience, and confidentiality in a high-pressure setting.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or military surgical technologist training
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least 1 year of surgical technologist experience in an acute care operating room setting
• Knowledge of surgical techniques, human anatomy, and operative procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment with strong organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
