Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care to ICU patients, including those requiring ventilator support, titration of drips, and specialized treatments.
• Manage patients with conditions such as respiratory failure, post-surgical recovery, wound care, IV antibiotic therapy, CVA, trauma, and cardiac issues.
• Administer and monitor titratable medication drips including sedatives, vasopressors, insulin, and other critical care medications.
• Collaborate with in-house intensivists, hospitalists, RTs, and telemetry staff to ensure continuous patient care.
• Document patient progress and update treatment plans in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Perform equipment troubleshooting and management of ICU monitors and ventilators as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Registered Nurse license or active application in process.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Experience with PEG tube care, CVC/PICC/Midline management, tracheostomy care, and ventilated patient support.
• Ability to titrate and manage critical drips such as Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, and others.
• Strong understanding of ICU protocols and patient monitoring systems.
• Knowledge of drug screens and compliance with hospital drug-free policy.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior ICU experience caring for sedated and ventilated patients.
• Expertise in managing complex medication titration and critical care procedures.
• Familiarity with Philips telemetry monitors and ICU equipment troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
