Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to laboring patients throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using continuous electronic fetal monitoring and other assessment tools
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and oxytocin as ordered, following established clinical protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe delivery outcomes
- Respond to obstetric emergencies including shoulder dystocia, hemorrhage, and fetal distress
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or compact state eligibility
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Prior clinical experience in Labor and Delivery
- Ability to work night shift as scheduled
- Completion of facility orientation requirements prior to independent practice
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Experience with high-acuity or high-volume Labor and Delivery units
- Familiarity with electronic fetal monitoring and obstetric emergency protocols
