Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU / Progressive Care

Contract | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Day Shift | Traditional weekday plus weekend rotation
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to critically ill and progressive care patients, including those with diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolism, and pneumonia
- Manage ventilated patients and initiate and titrate IV drips including vasopressors, sedation, and paralytics
- Assist with intubations and line placement while continuously monitoring critically ill patients
- Care for patients across a mixed-acuity unit serving both ICU-level and progressive care patients, with patient ratios of 1:2–1:3 for ICU and 1:3–1:4 for progressive care
- Float to other ICU, progressive care, and medical-surgical units as needed, maintaining a maximum 1:3 patient ratio
- Utilize unit equipment including cardiac monitors, an electronic medical records system, medication dispensing systems, EKG machines, and dopplers
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1.5 years of ICU nursing experience
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association only
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification – American Heart Association only
- Strong critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and flexibility to care for both ICU and progressive care patient populations
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 facility preferred
