Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit managing common diagnoses including NSTEMI, COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, and AKI

• Maintain patient ratios of up to 1:5 (with potential to reach 1:6), collaborating with PCT support staff

• Monitor and sign off on telemetry strips throughout each shift, with MT support for reading strips

• Work alongside Charge Nurses and House Supervisors to ensure safe, effective unit operations

• Adhere to weekend and holiday rotation schedules (typically every other weekend and holiday)

• Float to other units such as ICU, ER, or behavioral health as applicable based on individual experience level

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

• Compliance with dress code: any scrub color, closed-toe shoes, and professional hygiene standards

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation

• Background in ICU, Emergency Room, or behavioral health settings (relevant to floating opportunities)

• Familiarity with heated high-flow respiratory therapy equipment
