Surgical Technician - General Surgery

Full-Time, Days Shift, 5 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with a variety of surgical cases including general surgery, urology, gynecology, and ENT.
• Scrub in on procedures such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy, colon, appendix, cystoscopy, hysterectomy, vascular, ENT, urology, and DaVinci robotic surgeries.
• Support surgical team during procedures, ensuring proper sterile technique and instrument readiness.
• Collaborate with charge nurses and surgeons to facilitate efficient operating room workflows.
• Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards.
• Float as necessary to support other surgical teams or SPD departments, based on qualification.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of a surgical technologist program
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Minimum of 1.5–2 years of hospital surgical experience, with at least 1.5 years in a Level I trauma center considered.
• Experience with Urology, Gynecology, ENT, and general surgery procedures
• Proficiency with DaVinci robotic system (independent with robot or willing to be trained)
• Scrubbing experience for OR procedures

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Level I trauma experience for mid/evening/night shift candidates
• Ability to independently operate DaVinci robotic system
• Experience with EMR systems, preferably EPIC OP TIME
• Flexibility to work weekends and participate in call rotation with a 30-minute response time
