Registered Nurse – Flex Pool (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | 36 hours per week | No guaranteed hours
Key Responsibilities
- Float between multiple medical and surgical units, including a general medical unit, a surgical acute unit, and a cardiovascular unit
- Deliver direct patient care in accordance with unit-specific nurse-to-patient ratios (ranging from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on unit assignment)
- Operate and manage unit equipment including an EMR system, Pyxis medication dispensing, wound vacs, and chest tubes
- Adapt quickly to varying patient populations and acuity levels across assigned units
- Adhere to professional dress code standards, including clean scrubs at all times
- Complete unit-specific orientation and training for each assigned department
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Hawaii — must be obtained prior to assignment start date
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience (up to 10 years preferred)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Documented proof of required immunities — medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted in lieu of documentation
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Certifications in PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, or ENPC
- Prior experience working in a float pool or multi-unit nursing role
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR systems
