Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all age groups within a high-volume Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center emergency department
• Deliver patient care under nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:1 for critical and trauma patients to 1:3–4 for all other patients
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff to meet the emergency medical needs of the community
• Float to other units and hospital facilities as needed
• Document patient care accurately using the facility's EMR system (Meditech)

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a valid Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); must be verifiable through NURSYS
• AHA or Red Cross ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification required
• Minimum of 18 months of RN experience with at least 1 year of recent emergency department experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of emergency department nursing experience
• Experience working in a high-volume trauma or stroke center environment
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR
