Operating Room Technician – OR Tech

Contract | 13–16 Week Assignment | Days | Shift Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Full-Time | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Perform circulating duties in the operating room; scrub experience also utilized as needed
• Support a broad range of surgical cases including orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, plastics, and vascular procedures across main campus OR suites and ambulatory surgery center
• Float to the ambulatory surgery center (ASC) as required based on case schedule and experience
• Participate in on-call rotation, including one call night per week and on-call coverage approximately once every 3rd to 4th weekend
• Assist with patient transport when central transport is backed up and perform IV starts per unit protocols
• Document accurately using EPIC for both clinical and medication management needs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in surgical services / operating room specialty
• Vascular surgical skills are required
• Certification through NBSTSA required
• Active BLS certification required
• New York state licensure/eligibility required
• Work history must reflect experience in a similarly sized facility with Trauma Level II or higher designation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel assignment experience preferred
• Scrub experience in addition to circulating is preferred
• Broad surgical knowledge base including robotics, neuro, and plastics is highly desirable
• Familiarity with EPIC documentation and scheduling systems such as Smartsquare is a plus
