Registered Nurse Oncology

Job Title

• RN - Oncology / Med/Surg (Travel)

Schedule / Job Type

• Travel, 13-week assignment, Night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for oncology and med/surg patients in a fast-paced hospital setting
• Administer medications, including blood products, electrolytes, and other treatments per order
• Perform procedures such as lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies, thoracentesis, and assist with complex patient needs
• Utilize EMR system (Meditech) for documentation and care coordination
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
• Follow unit policies regarding hazardous drugs and handle excreta appropriately

Required Qualifications

• Current valid RN license
• BLS certification
• Minimum of 1 year of recent hospital acute care experience in oncology or med/surg units
• Valid chemotherapy and biotherapy certification (preferred)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Step-down unit experience with standing orders and acute hematology cases
• Compassionate and adaptable personality with quick learning ability
• Experience with advanced equipment such as tele, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and PCA pumps
• Experience in handling hazardous drugs and excreta education
