Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Neuro Med/Surg – Night Shift

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver attentive and compassionate nursing care to patients on a 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg PCU with a 6:1 patient ratio
• Operate and monitor unit equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, continuous pulse oximetry machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and SCDs
• Perform and maintain IV starts, basic wound care, surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Conduct bedside shift reports and actively include patients and family members in their plan of care
• Adhere to floating policy and weekend scheduling requirements (2 weekends per 4-week schedule)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg or PCU nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• Proficiency with IV insertion, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Ability to prioritize care and multitask in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Neuro Med/Surg or Step-Down/PCU setting
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation systems
• Experience working in a facility with Comprehensive Stroke, Trauma, or Chest Pain Center certifications
