Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, incorporating culture, age, developmental level, and risk factors into individualized care planning
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice, and communicate changes in patient condition to the care team in a timely manner
• Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including execution of discharge orders and collaboration with case management
• Provide patient and family-centered education related to procedures, treatments, and discharge planning
• Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of care delivered by other team members
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) or higher
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Minimum two years of nursing experience
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Previous experience in cardiovascular or cardiac surgery nursing, including care of pre/post-cardiac intervention patients
