Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, incorporating culture, age, developmental level, and risk factors into individualized care planning.
- Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice, and conduct ongoing assessments and responses to treatments.
- Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including execution of discharge orders, discharge teaching, and coordination with case management.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of patient care provided by other team members.
- Provide patient and family-centered education, explaining procedures, treatments, and processes while addressing educational needs based on comprehension level.
- Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTI reduction, and documentation auditing.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care team members.
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures.
- Proficiency with or ability to be trained on computer systems and clinical applications.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous clinical nursing experience in a progressive care, step-down, or similar acute care setting.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
