Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 3 x 12-hour shifts per week | Expected 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members on a 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit, maintaining a 6:1 patient ratio
• Utilize unit equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and iMobile communication technology
• Perform and maintain skills including IV starts, basic wound care, management of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Conduct bedside shift reports and actively involve patients and family members in the plan of care
• Float to other units as needed per facility policy; contract labor is first to float by rotation when multiple contract staff are scheduled

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license
• BLS certification (required)
• Med/Surg experience with demonstrated ability to prioritize care and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to wear required uniform: navy scrub tops and bottoms

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a PCU, stepdown, or Neuro Med/Surg setting
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and neurological patient populations
• Experience with Meditech documentation system
