Sterile Processing Technician – Surgical Services

Contract | Nights | 5x8 Hours | Sunday–Thursday | 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Key Responsibilities
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays in a high-volume sterile processing department
- Manage and process an average daily tray volume of approximately 700 trays supporting a large multi-OR surgical suite
- Utilize instrument tracking software (CensiTrac) to accurately document and monitor instrument sets throughout the sterilization cycle
- Operate washers and sterilizers in accordance with facility protocols and manufacturer guidelines
- Float within the facility and scope of care as needed to support departmental operations
- Adhere to all infection control, safety, and compliance standards throughout each shift
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of sterile processing experience required
- Active national certification required: CBSPD or CRCST (through HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM)
- Proficiency with CensiTrac instrument tracking system required
- Experience supporting a minimum of 80 case types
- Ability to work a Sunday–Thursday night schedule including Sunday weekends
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Belimed washers and sterilizers preferred
- First-time travelers with Level I Trauma experience and a minimum of 2 years of experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Familiarity with Epic charting system
