Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab / Electrophysiology (EP)

Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM) | 40 Hours per Week | 14-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate for EP and cardiac cath lab procedures including ablations (VT, PVI, CV, A-Flutter, AV Node), ICD/pacemaker placements and exchanges, laser lead extractions, and left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO)
• Provide conscious sedation during procedures and accurately monitor patients throughout
• Perform EKG lead placement, prep access sites, and maintain sterile field as scrub nurse
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening arrhythmias and dysrhythmias
• Operate and set up specialized equipment including PFA, Cryo, ESI, IVUS, and Cardio Lab systems
• Participate in late team rotation (1st Late and 2nd Late) to ensure case completion and patient transition to the next level of care

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state license
• Minimum of 3 years of Cardiac Cath Lab / EP Lab experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Proficiency in electrophysiology procedures, cardiac mapping, arrhythmia induction, cardiac ablation, conduction studies, and insertion/programming of AICDs and pacemakers
• Comfort and competency providing conscious sedation during procedures
• Willingness to serve on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and report during catastrophic events or mass casualty situations as required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Watchman/Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) closure procedures
• Familiarity with documentation and medication systems including EPIC (CUPID), Cardio Lab, Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• Experience with laser-assisted procedures and temporary/permanent pacemaker insertion
