Registered Nurse IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Title
• Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) – Night Shift

Schedule / Job Type
• Travel, Full-time, Nights, 13-week assignment

Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialized nursing care for cardiac and vascular surgery patients in a progressive care setting
• Monitor and manage patients with various post-surgical and medical conditions, including open heart surgery, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, and fem-pop bypass
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and cardiac GTT management (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, etc.)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for patient care planning and execution
• Utilize electronic health records (Cerner) to document and update patient information
• Follow unit policies and protocols, including epidural, chest tube, and tube feeding management

Required Qualifications
• Active RN license in North Carolina or applicable state
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum of 2 years of recent inpatient RN experience
• Stepdown or telemetry experience in a cardiac or vascular surgery setting

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Prior experience caring for cardiovascular surgery or vascular surgery patients (within the last year)
• CVICU experience
• Experience managing complex medications and cardiac devices

Additional Details
• Shifts: 12.5 hours overnight (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, minimum of 6 weekends over a 6-week schedule period
• No on-call requirement; flexible holiday coverage possible
• Attire: Navy, white tops with navy bottoms, or all white scrubs
• Equipment: Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, patient lifts
