Surgical Technologist – CVOR (Travel Contract)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM, Monday–Friday | On-call requirements: may be asked to stay late 1–2 times per week

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scrub technologist duties in a cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) setting, supporting open heart and interventional cardiology procedures
• Assist with large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, medication administration, and skin assessment
• Assist with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement
• Transport patients to the OR and assist with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation using electronic health record systems
• Collaborate effectively with interdepartmental teams including RNs, charge nurses, secretarial staff, and management

Required Qualifications

• Active CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification — mandatory
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience — required
• Current BLS certification
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Proficiency with BCMA and electronic documentation systems (Cerner experience a plus)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interdepartmental collaboration

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a PreOp setting supporting cardiovascular patients
• Familiarity with GE Carescape monitoring systems and Fuji ultrasound equipment
• Background in a high-volume or robotic surgery program
