Surgical Technologist – CVOR (Travel Contract)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract (13 Weeks) | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM, Monday–Friday | On-call requirements: may be asked to stay late 1–2 times per week
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scrub technologist duties in a cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) setting, supporting open heart and interventional cardiology procedures
- Assist with large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, medication administration, and skin assessment
- Assist with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement
- Transport patients to the OR and assist with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation using electronic health record systems
- Collaborate effectively with interdepartmental teams including RNs, charge nurses, secretarial staff, and management
Required Qualifications
- Active CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification — mandatory
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience — required
- Current BLS certification
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Proficiency with BCMA and electronic documentation systems (Cerner experience a plus)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interdepartmental collaboration
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a PreOp setting supporting cardiovascular patients
- Familiarity with GE Carescape monitoring systems and Fuji ultrasound equipment
- Background in a high-volume or robotic surgery program
