Travel RN – Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) – Stepdown

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 40-bed cardiac surgery stepdown unit serving CV surgery and vascular surgery populations, including post-operative open heart surgery, thoracic lung surgery, and AAA repair patients
- Manage epidurals, chest tubes, tube feedings, and IV glucommander protocols
- Administer and monitor cardiac drip infusions including phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, and ketamine
- Maintain a 1:5 patient ratio and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge RNs and patient care technicians
- Document accurately using Cerner EMR and operate Baxter IV pumps and CADD epidural pumps
- Float as needed to stepdown, medical-surgical, or ER inpatient holding units per staffing needs
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Stepdown (PCU/IMC) experience required
- Telemetry experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience within the past year with CV surgery and vascular surgery patient populations (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass)
- CVICU experience
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with flexibility across unit assignments
