Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Days | Primary Shift: 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM, Monday–Friday; flexibility required for additional shift variations
Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex post-anesthesia nursing care for a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatric patients, including cases involving orthopedics, general surgery, vascular, ENT, urology, and breast reconstruction.
- Utilize the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — to deliver care consistent with professional standards of practice.
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
- Manage and stabilize critical care patients requiring transfer to a higher level of care.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
- Assess and address patient and family learning needs; provide education and identify appropriate resources.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN License in the state of employment or a valid compact nursing license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year of PACU or related perioperative nursing experience.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience in a Perioperative RN Residency program or recent practice in an OR/perioperative setting.
- Demonstrated ability to care for critical care-level patients within a PACU environment.
