Patient Care Assistant / Technician – Medical/Surgical, Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 8-Hour Shifts (11:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Holiday Coverage Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assistance across assigned units including Medical/Surgical, ICU, and Emergency Room settings
• Float to Medical/Surgical units, Intensive Care Unit, and Emergency Room as needed
• Support nursing staff with patient monitoring, personal care, and comfort measures
• Assist with patient transport, positioning, and activities of daily living
• Document patient information and report changes in patient condition to the clinical team

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Patient Care Technician or Patient Care Assistant
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Ability and willingness to float to Med/Surg, ICU, and Emergency Room units
• Availability to work every other weekend and required holidays

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 3 or more years of experience in a patient care technician or similar clinical support role
• Prior experience working in a multi-unit or float pool environment
• Familiarity with ICU and/or Emergency Room patient care workflows
