• Travel, Night shift, 12.5 hours per shift, 3 shifts per week, 13-week assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients, including open heart surgery, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, and fem-pop bypass.
• Monitor and manage patients' vital signs, IV medications, and cardiac gtt.
• Perform epidural management, chest tube care, tube feedings, and other stepdown patient interventions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (Cerner).
• Respond to patient emergencies and adjust care plans as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in the state of North Carolina or appropriate compact license.
• ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in IMC, PCU, or stepdown units.
• Experience in telemetry, CV surgery, or vascular surgery populations.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in CVICU or cardiac surgery units within the past year.
• Familiarity with advanced cardiac medications and equipment such as Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and be flexible with scheduling.

Additional Details

• No on-call required; minimum of 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule.
• Dress code: All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white scrubs.
• Shift hours: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM.
• Staffing includes a charge RN, RNs, PCTs, and HUCs per shift.
• Equipment used: Baxter IV pumps, epidural pumps, lifts.
• Worksite: Asheville, NC, 509 Biltmore Avenue.
