Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity Medical/Surgical floor serving surgical, trauma, and spinal cord injury populations
- Manage a patient assignment of up to 5 patients with support from nursing techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary
- Complete structured nurse handoff with ED and admitting staff during patient transitions
- Monitor and respond to the complex needs of patients including post-operative, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic cases
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate and deliver safe, effective care throughout the night shift
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system
- Ability to commit to assigned night shifts with no block scheduling and no requested time off (RTO)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Prior experience with trauma, surgical, or spinal cord injury patient populations
