Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 hours per week preferred, flexibility for 48 hours if needed | Every other weekend required | Holiday coverage required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Cardiovascular ICU setting with a 1:2 patient ratio, occasionally 1:3
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using EPIC electronic health records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Interpret EKG readings and respond appropriately to cardiac changes
• Participate in weekend rotations and holiday coverage as required
• May be asked to float to a Medical ICU or similar unit within the same campus on a limited basis

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Minimum 2 years of strong ICU experience
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
• Passed EKG test with a score of 80% or higher (must be submitted at time of application)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiac and/or neurological ICU experience strongly preferred
• Highly experienced general ICU nurses with demonstrated critical care competency will also be considered
