Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 29-bed Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit serving patients with congenital heart disease and complex cardiac diagnoses across all age groups
• Manage patient assignments at a 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio based on acuity
• Support care for patients undergoing cardiac surgery, heart transplant, cardiac catheterization, and Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) therapy
• Administer and monitor advanced supportive therapies including ventilatory support, ECMO, and CRRT
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including Respiratory Therapy, Pediatric Dietitians, Pediatric Pharmacists, and Pediatric Palliative Care as needed
• Float within scope of practice to meet unit needs; participate in weekend and holiday rotation (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience required
• Combined cardiovascular and pediatric nursing experience required
• Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license required (SC license must be active prior to start)
• PALS certification required – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• BLS certification required – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Charting proficiency; facility uses EPIC

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) experience highly preferred
• ACLS certification preferred – American Heart Association (AHA) only
