Contract | Travel | Days | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | 13-Week Assignment | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct bedside nursing care on a 40-bed cardiac step-down unit for patients with CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and post-procedural cardiac patients (cath/stent, pacer/ICD/ablation)
• Manage and titrate cardiac IV medications including nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, and diuretics
• Operate unit equipment including Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, bladder scanners, and lift equipment; document in Cerner EMR
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4, with stretch staffing up to 1:5 as needed
• Assist with or perform bedside cardioversion as indicated
• Float to MedSurg units, other step-down units, COVID unit, and ER holding as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (or compact eligibility) in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of step-down or progressive care nursing experience
• Demonstrated telemetry experience
• Experience administering and titrating cardiac IV medications
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with prostacyclin therapies (e.g., Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin)
• Relief charge nurse experience
