Job Title

• Staff Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job Type

• Rotating shifts, full-time (80 hours every 2 weeks), primarily nights

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, nursery, and outpatient testing patients on a 5-bed OB unit.
• Monitor fetal heart rate and interpret fetal monitoring data, assist with labor management including epidural administration, Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and other IV drips.
• Assist with newborn care, including resuscitation, APGAR scoring, phototherapy, circumcisions, and newborn procedures.
• Support anesthesia during labor, including administering and monitoring epidurals and intrathecal medication.
• Prepare and manage adult and neonatal IVs, perform vital signs assessments, and document in paper charting system.
• Respond to emergencies and perform neonatal resuscitation and other critical patient interventions.
• Float to other departments as needed based on census fluctuations.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of labor and delivery experience.
• Ability to care for high-risk obstetric patients (PIH, placenta abruption, VBAC, GDM, PTL, PROM, etc.).
• Skilled in fetal monitoring and interpretation, including external electronic fetal monitoring (FM) certification.
• Competent in neonatal care procedures, such as IV placement, resuscitation, APGAR scoring, phototherapy, and circumcisions.
• Able to work any shift, with a preference for night shifts.
• Must be available to work 80 hours every 2 weeks.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• STABLE (Supporting Training and Awareness for the Breastfeeding Latch and Delivery) or equivalent
• FM (Fetal Monitoring certification)
