Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days Shift | Onsite | Block Schedule (8-hour shifts) | Every other weekend required | Must be available for at least half of holidays during assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and provide direct nursing care to a long-term care population including dementia, frail elderly, and rehabilitation patients
- Administer medications and carry out clinical skills including IV therapy, catheterization, and ostomy care
- Complete accurate and timely charting using the facility EMR system (ECS)
- Fulfill charge nurse duties as assigned within the unit
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including therapy, social work, dietary, and activities staff
- Float to other units as required
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience working with elderly patients in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting
- Proficiency in clinical skills including IV therapy, catheterization, and ostomy care
- Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:20 in a charge nurse capacity
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a nursing home or hospital-attached long-term care environment
- Familiarity with ECS or similar long-term care EMR platforms
- Experience caring for patients with dementia and rehabilitation needs
