Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned telemetry patients.
• Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with level of practice.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and connect with appropriate resources.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage the clinical situation; float to other units when required.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of employment or valid compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA required.
• Ability to work every other weekend as part of the regular schedule.
• Willingness to float to other units when needed; no on-call requirement.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a telemetry or related nursing specialty.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience caring for patients with MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, or med/surg overflow populations.
