Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across specialized oncology inpatient units within a comprehensive cancer center environment featuring 318 acute care beds
• Float to Medical Surgical and PCU Oncology units including BMT, Acute Leukemia, Hematology, Medical Oncology, PCU Oncology, Gynecological Oncology, Urology, Colorectal, Surgical Oncology, and Corrections Healthcare
• Maintain a strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention initiatives
• Manage patient assignments at staffing ratios of 1:3–1:4 on PCU and 1:4–1:5 on Med/Surg Telemetry units
• Participate in self-scheduling by submitting preferred schedule requests prior to final schedule posting each 4-week period
• Complete an orientation period beginning with one week of day-shift orientation followed by five bedside orientation shifts before practicing independently

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of high-acuity Medical Surgical Telemetry experience or higher
• Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license) required at time of submission
• Active ACLS certification required
• Active BLS certification required
• Active NIHSS certification required
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Oncology nursing experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with BMT, hematology, or surgical oncology patient populations is a plus
