Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric medical/surgical patients on a unit with a daily census of approximately 43
- Administer and monitor insulin and heparin drips, and manage wound vac dressing changes and high-flow oxygen therapy
- Utilize Epic for documentation and Pyxis for medication administration; communicate using SBAR methodology
- Float to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients as needed
- Participate in unit team meetings, including additional night-shift meetings scheduled on a recurring basis
- Serve as a member of the assigned Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
- Minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- Demonstrated ability to manage insulin and heparin drips
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
- Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays as assigned
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Charge nurse experience preferred, particularly for night shift travelers
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification
- First-time travel nurses will be considered
