- Travel, Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 13-week assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide acute care to patients in a high-acuity cardiac progressive/intermediate care unit.
- Perform patient assessments, monitor cardiac rhythms, and manage telemetry.
- Administer medications and IV drips including heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone, and ketamine.
- Assist with procedures such as cardiac catheterizations, thoracic surgeries, and post-operative cardiac and vascular care.
- Manage equipment including telemetry monitors, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, chest tubes, pacer wires, and ventilators.
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record system.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-year current acute care RN experience in a hospital PCU or similar unit.
- Valid RN license.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Chest tube management and removal.
- Pacer wire removal.
- 12-lead EKG interpretation.
- Oxygen therapy including BIPAP and heated high-flow systems.
- Management of drips such as heparin, amiodarone, and other vasopressors and inotropes.
