Registered Nurse – CVICU (Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit (CSICU/CVICU) setting
• Monitor and manage critically ill cardiac surgery patients in accordance with unit protocols
• Document all patient care activities accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed
• Complete required unit-specific orientation modules within the designated timeframe

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia or a compact state (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of CSICU or CVICU experience at a Level 1 facility
• EPIC charting experience required – no exceptions
• BSN degree (preferred but strongly encouraged)
• 2 professional references required at time of submission
• Must adhere to facility natural nail policy

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN degree from an accredited nursing program
• Prior travel nursing experience in a cardiac or surgical ICU environment
• Familiarity with Level 1 trauma or academic medical center workflows
