Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Nights (3x12, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide acute nursing care to adult patients in observation status and inpatient overflow, including those presenting with chest pain, acute coronary syndrome, cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, CVA/TIA, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, diabetes, syncope, and GI bleed
- Perform and interpret cardiac and telemetry monitoring, pulse oximetry monitoring, and comprehensive patient assessments
- Administer Level 3 continuous intravenous infusions and Level 3 IV push medications per facility policy
- Assist with and support procedures including permanent pacemaker pacing, TEE, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and negative pressure isolation (AFB)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and specialty services — including cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, and neurology — to develop and execute individualized patient care plans
- Float to like units within the facility or nearby campuses as needed based on census demands
Required Qualifications
- Active South Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a Cardiac Stepdown or comparable unit
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with EPIC EMR
- Proficiency with Pyxis and/or Omnicell medication dispensing systems
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms
- Familiarity with rapid assessment unit workflows and coordination of diagnostic testing and procedures
- First-time travel nurses with strong relevant clinical experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis
